our history
In 1956, a group of Wheaton educators founded the futureDuPage Credit Union.
Inspired by the credit union philosophy of people helping people, in 1956, a group of Wheaton educators pooled their money together to provide low-cost loans to other teachers. Today, DuPage Credit Union has grown to serve over 50,000 members, most of whom live or work in DuPage, DeKalb, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties.
Serving members is DuPage Credit Union's number one priority. We believe that by offering lower rates on loans, higher rates on checking and savings accounts, lower fees, and personalized service, both the Credit Union and our members benefit. We aren’t controlled by owners or shareholders; we are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who help ensure that every decision is made with our members in mind.
Whether you’re just starting out on your financial journey; rebuilding your credit; or saving towards a car, home, or retirement; we’ll be there every step of the way.
