We’re here to support our members with tools and resources that make managing finances easier and help make smart decisions every step of the way. Savings Goals in Digital Banking is a helpful budgeting tool that lets you track your progress toward a financial goal, like saving for a car.
Creating a Savings Goal
To access Savings Goals on a computer, log in to Digital Banking and select Tools from the main menu, then Savings Goals. In the DuPage Credit Union app, tap More > Tools > Savings Goals. To create a savings goal:
- On the Savings Goals screen, select the blue button Create a savings goal.
- Select the account you want to use for your goal. Should you choose, this is the account you will use to transfer funds to your checking account once the goal is completed.
- Select the category for your goal.
- Fill out the details for the goal including the title, the amount you want to save, and a optional target date.
- Select Create Goal.
After creating your goal you will see it in the Savings Goals screen in Digital Banking, however it will not appear in the main Digital Banking dashboard. You can edit or delete the goal at any time.
Completing Your Savings Goal
Once you reach your savings goal, it will be marked Ready to Spend, and the option Spend Money will appear. Selecting Spend Money gives you the option to transfer your savings goal amount into your checking account, or into a different savings account—though this is just optional. If you choose to transfer the funds, the goal will be marked as a Completed Goal.
