With over 6,000 entries from dozens of countries around the world, the MarCom Awards has announced the winners of their 2021 International Creative Competition for Marketing and Communication Professionals.

We are excited to announce that our Credit Card Redesign took home MarCom’s Platinum Award—their highest honor—for Branding Refresh within the Strategic Communications category!

What are the MarCom Awards?

The MarCom Awards is one of the oldest, largest, and most-respected creative competitions in the world, recognizing achievement by creative professionals who demonstrate quality, creativity, and resourcefulness in the concept, direction, design, and production of marketing and communication materials and programs. The awards are judged by industry professionals who look for talent that exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. MarCom selects winners in over 300 categories within Print, Web, Video, and Strategic Communications.

What’s new about our credit cards?

In an effort to continuously provide our cardholders with the best features, benefits, and service, this year, we made the switch to a new credit card provider. Cardholders now have more control than ever, thanks to the DuPage Card Controls app, where they can turn their card on/off, set spending limits, control where their card is used, see transactions, make disputes, and more. In addition, Inspire Cash Back and Imagine Rewards cardholders have access to merchant offers that they can add to their card and earn additional cash back.

Along with these feature upgrades, we gave our cards new names and a fresh new design.

Three of our four credit cards received new names, while the Inspire Cash Back Signature Card remained the same.

Whichever card a member chooses, we want it to be a joy to use, and that starts with enhanced aesthetic of the cards: the eye-catching colors, the clean/minimalistic design, and the tactile names featured on the Inspire Cash Back, Thrive, and Imagine Rewards cards.

Each of the cards are now vertically oriented. The vertical orientation lends itself to one of the new and exciting features of the cards: contactless payment technology. This is a feature that allows cardholders to tap their card to any terminal that accepts contactless payments and zip through checkout with secure, touch-free payments.

“As a designer, it’s exciting to see our creative efforts come to life and to receive this recognition,” said Lauren Marshall, Assistant Creative Manager at DuPage Credit Union. “We always design with our members in mind, and we’ve received great feedback on the new designs, as well as the new benefits of the credit cards, like contactless payments and the DuPage Card Controls app.”

Members began receiving their reissued, redesigned credit cards in September 2021.
