On Friday, March 6, our team partnered with Junior Achievement, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing young people for financial success through hands-on learning. Alongside high school volunteers from Addison Trail and Willowbrook High Schools and a team from Bank of America, we helped teach money management lessons to 240 students at Western Trails Elementary School in Carol Stream.
“Our Team had a wonderful time volunteering and teaching meaningful lessons on basic money skills,” said George Caraballo, our Associate Director of Branches and Community Engagement. “We hope we made a difference, that one financial nugget sparks curiosity and supports their financial journeys.”
Lessons focused on essential money management skills and financial literacy. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Junior Achievement and hosting future events to help students build the skills needed for a bright financial future.
As a credit union founded by teachers, giving back to educators and students in our community is one of the ways we invest in brighter futures. It’s a part of our vision to help futures thrive by promoting financial growth and independence for our members and community.
