Many of us have been busy making plans for when the man in the big red suit arrives… so busy, that it may be hard to believe that plans for New Year are just around the corner! If you’re stumped on what plans to make for your New Year’s celebration or you want to spice up your New Year’s Eve party, we have some great ideas to make the last night of 2015 one you won’t forget.
1.Host a themed party. Tired of the same old New Year’s Eve plans? Pick a theme such “decades” and have all your guests dress up from a different era. Play games to keep the party alive such as a resolution guessing game. Write down your New Year’s resolution, throw them in a bowl and have guests guess whose they are – whoever guesses right, wins a prize!
2.Throw a ball with your family. Turn your living room into a ballroom and dance the night away with your children. Visit a local Dollar Store® or Party City® to purchase a disco ball, lights and other New Year’s Eve props.
3. Head out of town. If you want to experience a new place, head to a ski resort with your family or friends or visit New York for the weekend to witness Time Square first hand.
4. Staying local? Check out local Zoos and attractions for events you and your family can enjoy during the day. Also, look for packages and parties at nearby hotels, bars and restaurants to celebrate the night with food, dancing and friends. Be sure to buy early enough so tickets aren’t sold out.
5. Crowds not your style? Throw on some cozy pajamas, get some food, and put on a good movie. Of course you can even watch all the New Year’s activities on TV from the comfort of your favorite chair.
6. Not a night owl? If you’re planning on heading to bed before the ball drops, schedule a brunch the next day with family or friends to make the first meal of 2016 a delicious one. Make sure to make reservations as restaurants do book up for holidays.
No matter your plans, there are plenty of ways to ring in the New Year in an unforgettable and safe way! Have other ideas for New Year’s Eve? Share them below! Also, don’t forget to enter our Ugly Sweater Contest!
