DuPage Credit Union members and team members recently donated 487 winter clothing items to help families in need throughout DuPage County. The Winter Clothing Drive was inspired in part by CU Kind Day, an annual nationwide celebration of community where credit unions demonstrate the power of “people helping people.”
Items donated included 132 hats, 84 pairs of winter gloves/mittens, 69 coats, and other necessities such as blankets, snow boots, and socks. The donated items will be distributed to school districts throughout DuPage County by the DuPage Regional Office of Education (ROE), which supports local families through programs such as Parents as Teachers. Parents as Teachers is a nationwide evidence-based early childhood home visiting and parent education program that supports families from pregnancy until kindergarten.

“We really appreciate the Credit Union’s partnership and everything that they have done for the families and children that we serve throughout DuPage County,” said Rhonda Eubanks, Director of Parents as Teachers at the DuPage ROE.
“The families are going to be very happy to receive a coat for their child,” said Fabiola Perez, Parent Educator for the DuPage ROE Parents as Teachers program.
