DuPage Credit Union Brings Zelle® to Mobile App, Empowering Members with Fast, Reliable Digital Payments

With Zelle®, money is sent between U.S. bank accounts—typically within minutes—using only an email address or U.S. mobile number.

NAPERVILLE, Illinois – DuPage Credit Union announced that Zelle® is now live in its mobile app, giving members a fast, reliable and easy way to send and receive money with people and businesses they know and trust. Members can now use Zelle® within the DuPage Credit Union mobile app for everything from everyday payments between friends and family to transactions that keep small businesses running across suburban Chicago and beyond.

“Launching Zelle means giving our members more control and more confidence when sending or receiving money,” said Amy Brandt, Chief Experience Officer, DuPage Credit Union. “Whether it’s paying a babysitter, sending rent or splitting essential everyday living expenses, Zelle makes it happen quickly, reliably and directly through DuPage Credit Union’s mobile app.”

Powering the Way America Sends Money

Zelle® is one of the most relied-on digital payment networks in the U.S. In 2025, American consumers and small businesses sent more than $1.2 trillion using Zelle®. With 2,400 banks and credit unions now offering Zelle® ̶ most of them community financial institutions ̶ the Zelle® network delivers reliable and fast1skip to disclosure payments by the same bank-level protections already built into banking apps.

Unlike many third-party apps, Zelle® doesn’t require users to input private bank account information. Money is sent between U.S. bank accounts ̶ typically within minutes1skip to disclosure ̶ using only an email address or U.S. mobile number.

Zelle® isn’t just powering payments; it’s powering the economy ̶ from Main Street to your street. That includes everything from rent and childcare to home repairs and local business services. Now, DuPage Credit Union members can tap into that same national network to make everyday financial life easier and more connected:

  • For consumers: Pay rent, split expenses, send money to family, or cover everyday costs ̶ all within minutes1skip to disclosure.
  • For communities: Keep local money local, supporting the businesses and people who make suburban Chicago thrive.

“Community financial institutions are economic anchors, helping consumers and small businesses thrive in the communities they serve,” said Denise Leonhard, general manager of Zelle. “By bringing Zelle to its members, DuPage Credit Union is giving consumers and small businesses another way to send and receive money directly through a financial institution they know and trust.”
